Analog Day
"Analog Day" is an interactive drop-in sanctuary in Walter Library (Room 101) dedicated to digital wellness, hands-on creativity, and unmediated human connection.
Heading into the thick of the semester, screen fatigue and digital noise are at an all-time high. While the UMN AI Hub centers on artificial intelligence innovation and research, we recognize that effective technology engagement requires knowing when to unplug. High-performing minds need intentional cognitive rest.
Step away from your screens, take a break from notifications, and join us for an afternoon of pure face-to-face community!
What’s Waiting Inside Walter 101
- 🍂 Fall Snacks & Drinks: Free hot cider, fall teas, coffee, and seasonal baked treats.
- 🎈 Balloon Animals & Jewelry Station: Custom balloon animals, pony beads, bracelet-making, and craft table.
- 🎲 Analog Social Lounge: Classic board games and non-tech conversation decks.
- 🛑 One Golden Rule: Screen time inside Room 101 is strictly taboo!
The Golden Rule
To protect the sanctuary space in Room 101, screen work is strictly taboo during the 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM window. Leave your laptop in your bag, step away from the prompts, and reconnect with fellow Gophers off-screen!
Format: Drop-in anytime between 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM. No formal presentation—stay for 15 minutes or the full two hours!
